Delphina Coastal Cuisine

With a newfound freedom to try Bald Head island dining they want while on vacation, many travelers discover a favorite meal or sweet treat at a restaurant they visit. Bald Head Island restaurants offer a variety of delicious cuisine from fresh seafood to classic pub favorites. In addition to a wide array of culinary choices, several have sweeping views where diners can watch the sun set or ferries cruise back and forth across the water.

Located in the historic jailhouse, Delphina offers a unique atmosphere and a menu with seafood and Southern comfort dishes. You can pair your meal with a glass of wine from their curated list or enjoy a cocktail from their bar. The owners have created a relaxed and comfortable place for guests to enjoy their meals and drinks.

Another great choice is Mojo’s on the Harbor. This restaurant is the only waterfront dining experience on the island. Diners can enjoy the sunset and boats coming and going from the marina while eating a grilled steak, fried shrimp or an oyster omelet. Don’t forget to save room for dessert. Their Creme Brulee Cheesecake and Key Lime Pie are the perfect end to your dinner!

Outside of the main dining rooms, you’ll find a few other small restaurants that expand the menu options for visitors. Several food trucks are located in the parking lot of the Maritime Market including Copper’s Wood-Fired Kitchen with pizzas, Sweet Bay Cafe and Catering with sandwiches and salads, Side Wok with Asian cuisine and the Market Cafe with breakfast, lunch and dinner items that can be taken to go.

Jules’ Salty Grub & Island Pub

If you’re looking for a pub with Southern-style coastal cuisine, Jules’ Salty Grub & Island Pub is the place to go. The menu features seafood specialties, salads and burgers. They also serve beer, wine and cocktails. In addition, the restaurant offers a great selection of desserts.

JULES opened its doors to the public on October 8, 2019. Formerly known as MoJo’s on the Harbor, it is a neighborhood Harbour hangout and waterfront dining escape for Island locals, guests, and their pets with their pet friendly deck.

Guests love the inviting pub atmosphere and mouthwatering seafood at this establishment. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The bar is located next to Delphina, and has a beautiful view of the harbor. Guests can enjoy drinks with friends or grab food to-go and take it back to their vacation rentals.

This bar is a must-visit for all seafood lovers. The food here is delicious and the service is excellent. The fried shrimp are perfectly cooked, and the chicken sandwiches and filet americain are very tasty. If you are a wine lover, try the red wine or the cabernet sauvignon. The restaurant also has a delicious ice tea. Make sure to leave room for dessert, and don’t forget the hush puppies! They’re the best in town. This restaurant is open from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Maritime Market Cafe

Located inside the Maritime Market, this convenient and full-service supermarket offers grocery staples like natural and organic foods; rare and vintage wines and craft beers; and Boar’s Head cold cuts and artisan cheeses. In addition to standard groceries, Maritime Market also carries fresh meat and seafood; produce; dairy; and deli and bakery items.

For breakfast, try the southern favorites of pancakes and biscuits or a banana crepe; or a chef’s imaginative daily special. Lunch options range from loaded island hot dogs and burgers to a large selection of sandwiches and wraps. For a quick snack, there is a small food court that serves a variety of easy grab-and-go food including sandwiches, salads and wraps – perfect for kids with wet hands from the pool!

The Maritime Market Cafe is also home to a Port City Java coffee bar, where you can pick up cups, shakes and cones of your favorite hot and cold drinks. For dessert, a sweet treat from Nye’s Cream Sandwiches is just the ticket.

Located right next to Delphina, this cozy shop with seating overlooking the river offers premium coffee and lattes from Java Estate Roasters as well as a selection of fresh homemade pastries. It is open 7:00am to 10:00pm. Previously known as the Island Chandler, the community grocery store that served locals and visitors, Maritime Market has expanded to include several dining and retail establishments, all conveniently located in one location off Muscadine Wynd.

Bald Head Island Club

The Bald Head Island Club is located at the southernmost end of North Carolina’s barrier islands. This privately owned club offers members and their guests a full spectrum of amenities. From family fun to elegant, sophisticated soirees, this club has something for everyone year round.

Members and their guests can dine at any number of the club’s restaurants. From seafood favorites to pub-style burgers and sandwiches, this club has plenty of options for any appetite. The menus are designed to highlight local ingredients and showcase the chefs’ creativity. A few of the restaurants also feature a wine list which highlights both domestic and international wines.

In addition to the dining venues, the Club has two bars and an expansive clubhouse. This clubhouse overlooks the golf course and is a beautiful place to enjoy an ocean view or a drink after a day on the links.

The golf course is a George Cobb original, which was redesigned by Tim Cate in 2014. This course winds over dunes and around fresh water lagoons while accentuating the natural beauty of this barrier island. The hundreds of sabal palms and the surrounding marine forest make for a unique golf experience. This course is also home to a variety of wildlife including herons, ospreys, deer and even the occasional alligator! Members can take advantage of lessons and clinics from the club’s United States Professional Tennis Association pros, as well as a Tennis Pro Shop offering Babolat racquets.
