Following are a few real-life scenarios where the agile methodology was successfully implemented:

1. The human resources department of IBM: IBM's HR department was not aligned with agile methodology and frameworks. Hence, the assigned team decided to incorporate agile methodology in their human resources division. The HR-specific goals were identified, and then cross-functional teams were selected.

Through this, employee empowerment had been witnessed and a backlog was implemented by teams to manage their work in progress. This could in turn create transparency and help the team to work on one task at a time. Through the tactical implementation of agile methodology in the human resources department by the IBM team, the performance management activities were optimized

2. The marketing strategy of VistaPrint: When VistaPrint assessed its waterfall methodology, the time taken right from the ideation phase to the product delivery phase to deliver the final output amounted to 60 days. For such a time-consuming activity, it switched to the Agile development model.

Through the tactical implementation of agile methodology, information sharing, and transparency scaled up, team environments were promoted, team building activities were implemented and daily stand-up meeting were ensued. This in turn helped the team to review the agile process and know what went well and what are those processes that need to be improved or thought upon.

3. The legal hassles of the 'Lonely Planet' company: This company was having certain specific issues with their legal team. The nature of work and workload were not understood by their internal clients, which in turn resulted in unrealistic delivery timelines. This in turn resulted in a hectic daily schedule for employees. The legal department was not able to acquire meaningful projects through which the company could grow and enhance productivity.

This led to the adoption of the agile methodology. Through this methodology, the team could look at the legal process from an end-to-end perspective and this in turn ensured that the work is delivered efficiently.
