Gladiator
Ridley Scott's film tells the story of a Roman general who was betrayed, abandoned and died, and then began a slow and violent revenge as a gladiator. This drama movie is epic in any sense. From the painstaking representation of all the authority and architectural glory of ancient Rome to the amazing action sequence, it is equally magnificent both visually and emotionally. Russell Crowe plays the revenge Maximus, and Joaquin Phoenix plays the crying emperor, which is full of attraction. This dramatic film is an amazing journey.
Tokyo Story
This is a seemingly simple story about a retired couple who traveled from the countryside to Tokyo to visit their adult children and the widow of their intermediate son (missing and presumed dead). Director Ozu's camera is always low to the ground (almost like the audience sitting on a traditional Japanese tatami mat for dialogue), almost never moves, and keeps a cautious and slow speed to keep the dialogue going. A slow burning, but it is a beautiful and touching drama movie.
Hidden Figures
It tells the true story of three outstanding African American women who worked in NASA in the 1960s. Katherine Johnson (played by Taraj P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughn (played by Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (played by Janel Mona) - Hidden People regard these women as the real think tanks that promote astronaut John Glen into orbit. This feminist drama movie is an elaborate and fascinating work, which aims to pay tribute to those women whose names should be known and respected, and become an integral part of the legend of the American space program.
Shattered Glass
According to a true story, Hayden Christensen (the role allows him to show more performance muscles than Anakin Skywalker) plays the young journalist Stephen Glass, who is found not only making up stories for the New Republic magazine, but also fabricating information sources and contact information to cover up his tracks. You never knew that the weekly magazine editor's meeting would be so tense, and Peter Sasgard was absolutely brilliant as an editor colleague who began to nitpick Glass's fantasy.An interesting drama movie.
Lady Bird
Mrs. Bird has achieved a perfect balance between drama and comedy. Most of the humor comes from (usually timid) the recognition of young people on the cusp of maturity, warts and everything. Greta Gawaig's film tells the story of a young high school graduate who is about to graduate and is eager to start her life in a place far away from her hometown, Sacramento. It is mainly launched by the stars Saolis Ronan and Raul Metcalfe as a mother daughter duo. Face your head in a nervous, funny and familiar way.
